Counseling

April is counseling awareness month!  As a professional counselor I feel the need to blow that counseling horn this month.

Counselors can help individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, and grief.  Maybe you are just trying to adjust to something new, we can help with that too. I help my clients find ways to cope and manage their feelings.  I help clients problem solve, discover what changes they need to make, and work to find to best ways for clients to make those changes.  The whole goal is to help you get back in control of your life and enjoying your days once again.

You may be afraid to go. If your hurting it is worth a try.  You can stop at anytime. The sooner you begin the better your chances of full recovery.  I won’t kid you counseling isn’t always easy.  It is hard, emotional work.  There might be tears.  There might even be some laughter.

You will need to be open and honest.  Be willing to listen to suggestion. I suggest you ask for homework, because working on your stuff only once a week will take longer. This work will most likely require change on your part.  I know – easier said than done.  But you don’t have to do it alone, your counselor is there to help.
