The Creativity Plan

Dust off your old guitar.  Take a painting class. Creativity unlocks our brains and helps us to adapt, change, and grow.

Creativity can combat depression.  This condition affects at least 16 million Americans at some point in their lives.  Depression often involves looking at the world through dark colored glasses and being unable to change that perspective.  Creative activity helps break through the clouds, leading to a sense of hopefulness that can left the feelings of depression.

When we become overwhelmed with worry and fear, creativity can help us to imagine alternative scenarios and improve our problem solving skills.  This can help put our minds at ease and decrease anxiety.

So this week lets all try a creative venture!  Play you guitar, paint a picture or your dining room chairs, draw, pen a poem, or just rearrange your knick-knacks.
