Coming Home To YOU

While we have those journals out processing the pandemic let’s keep up the good work. With all the hustle and bustle of daily life we sometimes lose our way, lose ourselves, or forget why we came this way at all. While we are staying at home without all the running maybe it would be a good time to “come home to you.”  Give the following journaling props a try.

  • What was your 3 favorite activities as a child? Swinging, swimming, making mud pies?
  • What did you what to be when you grew up? Are you that? Did you get a piece of it? Example of that is: wanted to be a fireman & help people, but I am a nurse & help people.
  • What is your favorite flower? Do you grow them? Do you buy them? If no, why not?
  • What is your favorite color?  How does it make you feel?
  • List your past hobbies.
  • What are your dreams? What do you want to be now?
  • What makes you happy? sad? tearful?
  • Are you ever lonely? Write about this.
  • List everything you are! I mean everything! Nurse, mother, artist, housekeeper, gardener, walker, Prince fan, cat lover, friend, meditator, cook, bird watcher, collector, dog parent, admirer of nature, over-thinker, insomniac, wine aficionado, sports enthusiast, world traveler, connoisseur of junk food, bookworm. You got the idea, everything! You are so much more than what you do for a living.
  • Write about what happened that really changed you. There may be several things, give them all a page.
  •  Finish the sentence.  I believe …………..    I think …………     I know for sure ……………….. I feel ……………..  I need ……………………  I have always needed …………….  I want …………….
  •  Tell a seceret. Okay, don’t write this one out.  Just tell the dog – in private.
  •  Have you ever felt lost? Ages? Why? How did you get yourself back?
  • What are your favorite things? Like colors, foods, movies, books, clothing.  Do you know why they are your favorites?
  • What is the one song that would tell others important things about you? Write out those important lines of lyrics.
