Use The Good Dishes

When my foster mother died I went into her closet to select a dress for her to be buried in.  There I found three brand new dresses with the tags still hanging from them.  What had she been saving them for?  She went to that closet every week to get a dress for church, but never choose one of these.  I know that there had been holiday dinners, birthday parties, graduations, weddings, and Easter days.  Yet no occasion was special enough to wear one of her new dresses.  What a waste.  Now I would bury her in one.  It made me very sad.

Your life is worthy of celebration.  Everyday can be an occasion.  Everyday of life is reason to celebrate.  Use your expensive perfume before it goes bad.  Burn the candle you got for your birthday.  Wear your new dress to work.  Use the good dishes tonight.  Even if you eat frozen pizza off of them. What are you saving your good things and your good times for?

Today is the day!  Get down the special glasses, set the table with the good china, light the candles and put on your new blouse.  Yes!  Just because it is Tuesday!  Enjoy!
