Personal Time

We all need personal time to rest, reflect, and rejuvenate.  To get the personal time you need, I suggest that you set aside times in your week for just that.  Next step will be to protect that time from others who put demands on your life and from your own should do list.  Let others in your life know that there will be times that you won’t be available.  Unplug for a few hours every day.  There is no need to jump at every chime of your phone, turn it off and give yourself a break from the demands of others.  Turn off the computer and television while your at it, they too bring the stress of the outer world home to you.  Digital detox is good for your mental health.  Hold your personal time dear to you: leave work at a regular time, treat this time as you would any important appointment, turn off the outside world, and give yourself permission to relax and enjoy.
