Something You Should Know About Improving Your Mental Health
What Most people don’t know about improving their mental health is that it will most likely take more than one thing to make a difference. I am not saying that one thing won’t make some improvement, but if great improvement is what your after it will take more. An example is clinical depression; an anti-depression medication might help by changing brain chemistry, but you will experience a great improvement when you add exercise and sunshine.
Being on medication can be life changing for those suffering with bipolar disorder. Bipolar suffers will find even greater relief when they add therapy to help keep their thoughts balanced. Group therapy to have people who understand. Exercise and sunshine for the depression. Breathing techniques for the anxiety. Adding a healthy diet and the right amount of sleep helps to balance the body and mind, because the mind is part of the body. These additions improve their life even more and are worth the increased in effort to maintain constancy.
By all means do the one big thing you believe will help or that is helping, but try adding a few other things to see deeper, longer lasting results.
One of the reasons I began writing this blog was to give you a place where you could find lots of small suggestions that might help you on your journey to better mental health. Try a few things that seem right for you personally. Then try a few suggestions that you are sure are not for you. You never know.
