Frozen Prayers

Have you given up on getting what you need from the Universe?  Maybe you have stopped putting in effort toward your dream?  Tired?  Uninspired? Feeling hopeless?  Frozen with fear?  Given up to the point you don’t even pray to Higher Powers for your own benefit?  Invested in thoughts of a cold, cruel world?  Depressed?

Maybe you are suffering in grief.  Loss is the worst deep freeze, it can freeze your heart.  Maybe you have lived a life that nothing you ever did turned out.  So you feel hopeless and helpless.  Maybe you have been used and abused leaving you feeling worthless.

You don’t have to walk around in this snow covered waste land. You are the only one that holds the match.  You can rekindle that fire you once had.  To thaw out your hopes, dreams, and prayers will take effort.  It will require warmth, love, understanding, and forgiveness.   In others words don’t beat yourself for getting into this frozen state.  Just pick a date and start that day to move into the sun.  How?  Small steps.

  • Give yourself sunshine, exercise, and fresh air.  All have great melting properties.
  • Go to the bookstore and buy a book that speaks to you from the self.  Maybe something that will rekindle your passion for your dream.
  • Go to therapy.  Work on your fear and depression.  Therapy can give you new perspective and resources for healing.
  • Pray for yourself or engage in a spiritual practice.

Yes, I actually put prayer on that list.  Prayer and spiritual practices have been scientifically proven to improve your mental health.  It improves your self-control, decreases your anger, makes you more forgiving, and increases trust.  Prayer also offset the negative affects of stress.  Who couldn’t use that?  Spiritual practice in accord with your beliefs can be very helpful getting you past a frozen state of mind and help you thaw out your hopes and dreams.
