Reaching a Goal

A goal I have for the new year is to improve my health as I am a diabetic I think it is a worthwhile goal.  I will attempt to achieve this goal by working to improve eating, exercise, controlling stress, and improving my sleep.

I will use mindfulness to improve my eating habits.  I am going to only eat in situations where I have the time to sit down and enjoy my food. Therefore being mindful of what I am eating and how much. No watching TV, surfing the web, or reading while eating.

I already exercise everyday, but I am going to add a little movement after dinner.  Walking around the block or picking up the house.  Anything that gets me up out of my seat and moving around.

I plan to control my stress with mindfulness as well.  Attempting to stay in the present.  Not worrying about the future or trying to control a past that already happened.  Here and now only.

I think that taking time to meditate every night before bed could improve my sleep.

“Please comment if you are working on this same goal.”  You could help encourage me and other readers.  We could all use a little encouragement.  Share how you are working to reach you goal.
